In my opinion, between the two, it will be safer to go with Management as it is more widely recognized and accepted degree. Master's in niche areas help fetch jobs only in specific areas until and unless you are open to take up a job that is in a different area from which you specialized in.

What are the best jobs a student right out of college can get with a masters degree in business management

What are the best jobs a student right out of college can get with a masters degree in business management?
I am going to be getting my masters degree in business management soon along with a masters degree in computers and i was wondering what would be the best jobs to get with great pay. The only other experience I have in the workforce was a few years of construction. I am very young and want to make money and eventually buy some apartment buildings and hopefully make as much money as possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Finance is great... Investment bankers work hard but make >$300k. For example, Goldman Sachs' average salary is about $600k, and in good years even the secretaries get bonuses of $80k and up.

1. To get a masters, you need a bachelor's first. A masters is a post-graduate (meaning, after you graduate college) degree. It does not matter if you get your bachelor's degree at a school that offers a masters in sports management or if you go to a school that does not. 2. Those kinds of jobs are gotten through connections more than education. I highly doubt you would find a job in that field unless you know someone. I suggest you get a more practical degree.

Why not a Disability Studies degree? "IBM, for example, has become a model for employing people with disabilities. In 1999 it launched Project Able, which assigns volunteer advocates to students with disabilities and helps streamline the application process for them. IBM also teaches its managers how to interview people with disabilities, and it's developed various strategies for accommodating them. Through such practices, IBM is able to increase the pool of talent from which it's able to draw."

Is getting a masters degree in management a good idea

Is getting a masters degree in management a good idea?
I am 23 years old, I have a degree in criminal justice and been to the police academy, however I am unable to find a job as a cop. So since I'm still rather young, I'm deciding if I should go back to school or not for a masters degree from Walsh college. I am hoping it would be a good back up plan, I just don't know if it is??

Walsh College in Michigan? Why aren't you looking at the local state or county four-year university with an MBA program? The other issue - you are in the like the worst job area in the US. Have you thought of relocating? How about the Army? Looked there with a specific request for MP?

walsh college is a seriously good option, but if you are looking at wider degrees and if you're totally undecided, you could try checking out places where they give you info on the various degrees you can opt for

A management master's is basically a crappy version of an MBA. a master's degree, however, is always a positive. however, like i said, most people will wonder why you got a masters in management when you could have sprung for an MBA, which is much more useful, challenging, and universally accepted. if masters in management will look good, but it doesnt have the same ring to it in the US as it does elsewhere.

Then just work for a couple of years and when you find out what you are good at, go to night class for an MBA in whatever it turns out to be.

2
You are better trying to get some experience first. Masters program should help you specilaize or transition your career. With your background you can apply for a variety of positions in industry or consulting.

What is a Masters Degree in Management and Leadership worth regarding starting salaries

What is a Masters Degree in Management and Leadership worth regarding starting salaries?
I graduate with a Master Degree in Management and Leadership (FROM A NON-IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL). When I get out of the military, I wanted to know what it is worth. I see that MBA's are worth around $130K a year. I realize that the economy changes but I wanted some idea. Also, are their any helpful sites where companies recruit from for Master Degree's when I leave the military?

Your military service plus the masters degree should be valuable to employers. I don't think you can compare that with the MBA. Salary ranges of MBA graduates are very broad, but I think the average is less than your figure. The Official MBA Guide reports average salaries of graduates, as provided by universities. The top 40 schools ranked by salary of graduates range from $84,000 to $120,000. These are medians of each school, and each has its own range, which is not reported.

It does not really matter because when you study one, you study the other two as required courses. You may want to start in Management or Finance. Economics is more of a theoretical science and you won't it it too much in real life (unless you work for the government, etc.).
