masters degree

masters degree??
im gona go to collage and get a masters degree. alot of people "major/specialize" in somthing. ex: buisness management.i know i want a masters degree but i dont want to take extra time and money to major in somthing cause im not gona know what i want to major in. so is there anyway to get a masters degree and then like lets say a year go back to collage when you know what you want and take like a little course as you would in a technical school for like 6 months on the thing you want to major in now that you already have the degree? or do you have to major in somthing when you go the first time? tell me how it all works.

woah woah woah hold up there buddy! to get a masters you have to get a bachelors degree first. to even apply to any masters program in the united states, you need to have a bachelors degree or tell them that you're working on one (like in the dual degree programs). to get a bachelors degree you need a high school degree. if you do want to go to technical school, it would help a lot to graduate high school and then go on, learn a skill and work in it if thats what you want. if you want a masters, go to college first for your bachelors, figure out what you enjoy, pick a major, and then graduate with your bachelors and apply to masters programs to get your masters degree (avg 2 years in the united states).

A masters degree is in a particular field; there's no major associated with it because you're only taking classes in that area. But you do need a 4-year college degree (bachelors) to apply to any masters program. And that degree requires a major. You can't just jump straight into a masters program without a college degree.

you get a bachelors degree and then you get a masters degree. that is the process. you major in the field you are interested in, and then you specify further when getting your masters degree. the process takes 6 years on average.

Would you pursue PhD in Plant Biotechnology or a Masters Degree in Health Information Management

Would you pursue PhD in Plant Biotechnology or a Masters Degree in Health Information Management?
I am a little confused about my next step in my educational career. I have completed Master of Science in Biotechnology at Griffith University, Queensland, Australia in 2001/2002. I have molecular biology experience. I also have a diploma in Medical Transcription and have experience as a Home-based Medical Transcriptionist. With regards to Biotechnology I am keen on Plant Biotechnology. With regards to Medical Transcription I have researched on the internet and the next step is a degree in Health Information Management. Both are good choices. Pro for Plant Biotechnology is I just love being a research scientist and would enjoy putting in those extra years to gain a PhD in Plant Biotechnology. Pro for Health Information Management is that it is an online course and it too is a very in demand occupation. Please try and advise me about my future course.... Many Thanks in Advance :)

Depending on your home country. Scholarships to foreign student (outside UK/EU) is very tough and tight. It's somehow disturbing to know how international students without sponsorship have to go through hard period when studying. Not a total impossible situation. But you'll work very hard. One of the ways is to contact the Uni you wish to study from and find out if they have anything to support you. Regards.
