Yes, they are legit. I am finishing a Career Certificate and I am planing on getting my Assoc. Degree there. I do think you should be able to get a job, since they have pretty much the same classes as any other school. at the end what matters is your talent, meaning how good you are in what you studied. About studying somewhere else after your BS talk to Penn Foster and ask, then call the university or universities you plan on going after it, and let them know your plans, they can tell you whether they do or don't accept the BS. some schools might not, so get prepared with different options. But keep going.

This is a stupid college if its website is pennfoster.edu because its canadian site is icslearn.ca and these have very stupid service. It call centre is located in US and if some one agent give you some discount, another one says that its not valid. Initially I took admission by looking discount on its letter by its Chief Academic Officer and start enrollment with initial fee and then I got another Tuituion Contract letter with differnt fee that we have not sent any such letter. I scanned and send them but they said that its by mistake. If some agent/CSR make you discount to get admission and later another one will refuse the discount and there is no access of phone to the CSR. If you cancell the admission due to their miscommunication instead of refunding your money they will send you a debt letter by paying the cancellation fee and other administrative charges. PennFoster (US) and ICS (Canada) is the same thing, same CSR/agents etc. I have te written proofs for them

You should look at what work the professors are doing. When you find someone doing research/work that really interests you (and is taking students), then you should go to the university where they work. Who you work with is often more important that where you go to school. Start by looking at scholarly articles about your field. Go to http://scholar.google.com/ and search for crises management. Pay attention to who has written the articles and where they work. Talk to someone already working in the field and find out what school they went to or if they know good advisers to have.

Is a Masters in Computer Science from University of Illinois Springfield employable

Is a Masters in Computer Science from University of Illinois Springfield employable?
I am looking at the University of Illinois at Springfield for a Masters degree in Computer Science. I am also looking at a Masters degree in Management Information Systems from Northern Illinois University. Would these degrees provide me with many opportunities for employment?

These may be more employable than any other degree. Almost every company in the world has computers to make daily business move more efficiently. People with any type of Computer Science or IT college training are in a good position to make a bunch of money. I don't have my degree but I worked for Hewlett Packard for years down in Houston. The IT support people made really great money. The computer Science guys made even more because they were trained to deal with the huge servers we had linking everything. Get some training to go with your Masters Degree. You can easily make over a 100 grand a year with your Masters and some training. I don't know were a Management Information Systems degree will take you. If has anything to do with computers it's a good choice as well.

Yes. A Master degre always looks best on a job application.

Yes, with the economy the way it is now is the time. A Bachelor's degree does not hold the same weight in the job market that it used to ten years ago. A Master's degree will open new doors for you. Do it now so you will not regret later.

I say yes. I'm doing the same thing. the requirements are more demanding especially with this economy.

1. Can you afford to pay for a graduate degree? Financial aid is only in the form of loans..not grants for graduate school. 2. Will a graduate degree make you more marketable? 3. Will THIS graduate degree make you more marktetable? 4. Does the school you want to attend have a good reputation and strong alumni/placement offices to assist you in future job searches? 5. Are those future job opportunities related to a graduate degree in MIS? 6. Could you become more marketable now by completing specific skill certification courses to expand your knowledge - and - get a faster ROI.(return on investment) 7. If you go to grad school, how long will it take you to recoup your investment in the form of real salary dollars? If the majority of your answers are yes, then consider going for the graduate degree. If you don't know the answers, then you need to do more research. Some professions do like graduate degrees, but IT is tricky...job opportunities often have less to do with your level of degree as it has to do with your skill level.
